Jose Delmar leads the Corporate Area – M&A as well as the Technology area at Osterling Law firm. Jose’s experience includes advising public and private companies on M&A, general corporate, investments, joint ventures, new technologies and general business strategies. Jose regularly speaks at industry events, serves on committees and working groups, and contributes articles on new technology regulations.
Prior to joining Osterling, Jose was a founding partner of Delmar Ugarte and Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría, where he assisted local and foreign companies in local and cross-border acquisitions, refinancings and general corporate matters. Previously, as Legal Manager (e) of Nextel del Perú (now Entel), he oversaw the deployment of telecommunications infrastructure, negotiated technology and financial contracts, among others. Jose was also Contracts Manager at Telefónica del Perú and prior to that, Manager at Andersen Legal. Jose led the team that drafted the regulations of the Lima Stock Exchange (1997-1998).
He is a registered arbitrator at AmCham and was appointed Professor of Law by PUCP and UPC, where he taught Civil Law (Obligations), Corporate Law and Ethics. Throughout his career he has been recognised by international directories such as Chambers & Partners, Legal500, BestLawyers, among others.
He speaks Spanish and English.
